This is a 6 hour course on agricultural and farm income tax topics, taught by Philip E. Harris. The course is designed for tax practitioners who work with agricultural clients and need more information on agricultural tax issues. Participants will receive the 2011 Agricultural Tax Issues book authored by Professor Philip E. Harris, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Topics for 2011

This course includes an update of legislation, cases, and rulings that affect farmers and the unique tax issues that arise when preparing farm income tax returns such as:

  • Wineries and vineyards
  • Like-kind exchange of equipment
  • Like-kind exchange of livestock
  • Timber farming
  • Tax consequences for both the lessee and the lessor of improvements installed by a lessee
  • Sales at farmer’s markets

Schedule
Registration: 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.
A.M. Program: 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon
Lunch: 12 noon – 1:00 p.m.
P.M. Program: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Registration Fee

The fee for the 6 hour course is $150 and will include a refreshment break and materials.

Participants will receive the 2011 Agricultural Tax Issues book authored by Professor Philip E. Harris, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Credit
